A bit about bronte
Bronte Upshaw is a New York-based actor, singer, and writer. Born and bred in Atlanta, Georgia, she grew up with Barbra and Blondie— singing cast albums in cars, Judy in jazz bars, and once live with the B-52s at a house party. Wild.
Bronte graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a BFA in musical theatre. In addition to the conservatory’s rigorous training, she spread glitter for two years at American Repertory Theatre's The Donkey Show and workshopped the role of Jackie in Goodspeed Opera House’s Sweetwater. Pre-pandemic, she originated the role of Suzanna in Troika Entertainment’s The Heroin Diaries- biography of rock icon Nikki Sixx. She's been a soloist at Joe's Pub and Broadway Comedy Club.
In May of 2020, Bronte started her company, Back Pocket Poems.
During such a chaotic moment in history, she found herself leaning on the power of words to carry her through grief and confusion. Bronte began writing personalized poems and wedding vows that illustrated the aesthetic and beauty of her followers.
Bronte is a proud member of Ring of Keys, and believes in radical empathy, storytelling, and using the arts to heal and empower. Catch her reading tarot, hoarding books, and adventuring with her wife, Reyna.
