Bronte Upshaw is a New York-based actor, singer, and writer.

Born and bred in Atlanta, she grew up equally smitten with Judy Garland and Joan Jett.

Forever in love with telling lush, dark, complicated, and wholly-human stories.

 

Bronte graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a BFA in musical theatre. In addition to the conservatory’s rigorous training, she spread glitter for two years at American Repertory Theatre's The Donkey Show and workshopped the role of Jackie in Goodspeed Opera House’s Sweetwater. Pre-pandemic, she originated the role of Suzanna in Troika Entertainment’s The Heroin Diaries- biography of rock icon Nikki Sixx. She's been a soloist at Joe's Pub and Broadway Comedy Club.  

 

In May of 2020, Bronte started her company, Back Pocket Poems.

During such a chaotic moment in history, she found herself leaning on the power of words to carry her through grief and confusion. Bronte began writing personalized poems and wedding vows that illustrated the aesthetic and beauty of her followers.
