Bronte Upshaw is a New York-based actor, singer, and writer.

Born and bred in Atlanta, she grew up equally smitten with Judy Garland and Joan Jett.

Bronte graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a BFA in musical theatre. In addition to the conservatory, she spread glitter for two years at American Repertory Theatre's The Donkey Show and workshopped the role of Jackie in Goodspeed Opera House’s Sweetwater. Pre-pandemic, she originated the role of Suzanna in Troika Entertainment’s The Heroin Diaries- biography of Motley Crue rock icon Nikki Sixx. She's been a soloist at 54 Below, Joe's Pub and Broadway Comedy Club.  

 

In May of 2020, Bronte started her company, Back Pocket Poems. She began writing personalized poems and wedding vows that illustrated the beauty and humanity of others- and has now written for people around the world.
